Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of Daniel C. Ulmer and Sallie Tilley and the husband of Emma Wingard. He was a farmer who lived on Rt. 2 in Orangeburg, SC (rural and middle). He died at home of a cerebral hemorrhage due to generalized arteriosclerosis. The informant was Mrs. C. T. Ulmer.

Found in The State 13 September 1951: Orangeburg, Sept. 12-(Special)-Cleveland T. Ulmer, 67-year-old retired farmer, died early this morning at his home on the Five Chop road, near Orangeburg, after two years of declining health. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 Thursday morning from White House Methodist church near his home by his pastor, the Rev. J. H. Eaddy, assisted by the Rev. L. W. Smith of Oswego, a former pastor. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery, Columbia. Mr. Ulmer, a native of Orangeburg county, was a son of the late Daniel C. and Sallie Tilley Ulmer. He was an honorary steward at White House church where he had served as Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was also a Mason and a member of the Shrine and the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Emma Wingard Ulmer; a daughter of his first marriage to Mrs. Bessie Stroman Riley, Mrs. John L. Owens of Tucson, Ariz., and two grandchildren; a stepson, J. T. Riley of Orangeburg; a stepdaughter, Mrs. John S. Mikell of Tucson, and a sister, Miss Lissie Ulmer of Orangeburg.
