Eugene P. Schreiner, a long time Nebr. City resident passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 1989 at Duff's Friendship Villa in Nebraska City. Ne. He was 77 years.

He was born January 28, 1912 at Nebr. City; the son of Joseph and Mary (Ullsperger) Schreiner. On October 2, 1933 he was united in marriage to Rose Karmazin at the Assumption Church in Deweese, Ne.

Survivors include his wife Rose of Nebr. City; 2 sons: Robert E. and Thomas J. both of Nebr. City; 2 daughters: Mrs. Tom (Linda) Lollman of Nebr. City and Mrs. Michael (Mary Ann) Hibbs of Adell, Iowa, 10 grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers: Harry Schreiner of Nebr. City, and Clarence Schreiner of Blair, Ne. and 1 sister: Geraldine Cooper of Nebr. City, Ne.

Gene was the owner/manager of the local Coca cola (sic) bottling plant for many years. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Chalice Club, a Charter Member of Knights of Columbus Council #3152-Nebr. City, Eagles Club, Elks Club, U.C.T. (United Commericial Travelers), and was a retired member of the Nebr. City Vol. Fire Dept.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 19, 1989 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebr. City with burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Clergmen (sic) officiated included Fr. Phillip Rauth, Fr. Lyle Johnson, Fr. Michael McCabe, Fr. Ivan Vap, Fr. Jerry Vap and F. John Cooper.

Rosaries were held at St. Mary's Catholic Church Monday evening. Knights of Columbus rosary was at 6:45 and parish rosary was at 7:30 p.m.

Pallbearers were Otto Berthold, Tom Funke, Ron Volkmer, Ed Harms, Gerald Schmitz and Lyle Babcock. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Nebr. City Vol. Fire Dept.

Mrs. Rose Schreiner was a former resident of the Lawrence community. Any cards, etc. can be sent to her at 1014 4th Ave., Nebraska City, Ne. 68410.
