Endicott: Rose T. Diorio, 88, of Endicott, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday, August 7, 2011. She was predeceased by her parents, Luke and Mary Diorio; husband, John Diorio, Sr.; three sons, John, Jr., Richard and Ray; brothers, Phil, Angelo and Dan; and a sister, Grace Marzocca. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to her family, a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynne and Karl Lubinger, Grand Prairie, TX; two daughters-in-law, Joanne Diorio, Endicott and Bettie Diorio, Apalachin; her grandchildren, John (Brea) Diorio, Rosemarie (Marcus) Diorio, Paul (Carrie-Anne) Diorio, Richard (Bekki) Diorio, Michele (Chris) Bennett, Sarah Diorio, Amy (Andy) Kramer, John and Daniel Kermidas, Erik (Ginger) Lubinger and Chris Lubinger; great-grandchildren, Grace and John Diorio, Anthony and Hailey Diorio, Nathan, Madelyn and Emily Bennett, Lilli, Karson, Ellison and Keller Lubinger; also several nieces, nephews and cousins, including special nephew and nieces Peter Marzocca and Ann Marie Little and Maria McClendon. Rose was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and active in the choir. She was a retired General Electric Corp. employee, retiring after 25 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, singing and playing the piano, was "Mrs. Endicott" in 1952 and had an unshakeable faith in God. Some of Rose's memberships included Endicott Senior Citizen Choir and the Daughters of Columbus Lodge 1666, Endicott. The family would like to thank the staff of South Tower 5/Hospice at Wilson Memorial Hospital, for all their loving care shown to Rose and her family and special thank you to Rose's caregiver Cate Linehan. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4-7 pm, with the Daughters of Columbus meeting at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Anthony's Learning Center, 906 Jenkins Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
