Mary Ann Wefler Gebby was born December 27th, 1934. It was a very cold day in West Terre Haute Indiana with temperatures dipping below Zero. That night the Courthouse in nearby Porter County burned to the ground. James Arthur Wefler, Mary Ann's father, often joked that her birth was celebrated by the city setting fire to the old courthouse.

Mary Ann was born to James Arthur (Art) and Olive Ross Wefler. She was the eldest of three children. Mary Ann was raised on a farm in West Terre Haute.

Mary Ann and her family barely escaped with their lives when the family home caught fire in the early hours when she was a young girl. She would later recount how their hair was badly singed by the flames as they struggled to escape the flames.

Mary Ann had rheumatic fever as a child which resulted in severe heart damage. She suffered with heart disease all her life, but never complained about her illness or let it slow her down.

Mary Ann met William Estus Gebby at a Camp meeting held at Salem Park. They were introduced by a mutual friend. It wasn't long before they were engaged and married shortly afterwards.

She enjoyed camping and taking family vacations. She loved planning trips and seeing all the natural wonders that graced our wonderful nation.

Mary Ann was a ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene was a faithful member of Eastside Church of the Nazarene for many years.

Mary Ann finally succumbed to her heart disease after a long fight in 1992. She left this world with a testimony and declaration of faith.
