Wendell, known to many as "Daddy Nelson," passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He has gone to be with his beloved daughter, Wendy, his parents, brothers and sisters. Wendell is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years, Arlene, son, Kevin Nelson and his wife, Jana of Nampa, Idaho, son Kennie Nelson and his wife, Sarah of Long Beach, California, daughter, Teresa Nelson Mataitusi and her husband, Tony of Redlands, California, 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his little sister, Hazel Marie Waters and her husband, John "Jack" Waters of Spanish Fork, Utah.

Although Wendell was born and raised in Utah, he was a resident of Redlands for nearly 40 years. Wendell was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, brother and son. He spent his life in service to his family. There is nothing he would not do for his family. Although he is missed, he will b loved forever.

There will be a memorial service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 640 S. Center St., Redlands, CA on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. There will also be a funeral in Springville, Utah on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Spring Creek 3rd Ward Chapel, 55 N. Main Street, Springville, UT 84664. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork Cemetery.
