I do not know a lot about David Jackson McAlister except that his daughter Mary Effie Stilwell was my great grandmother. He also had a son James Wilson (uncle Jim).
I seem to recall Great Grandma talking about him when he was a very young man helping run ferry on Arkansas river during Civil War days. He was 11 in 1861 when war started ands 15 when it ended. so he was young.
David took a plane ride in Little Rock Arkansas on his 90th birthday, as a gift. The newspaper listed his name incorrectly as E. J. David later died that same year
