Harley James Stockwell, age 81, Of Frankenmuth and formerly of Harrison, passed away at his residence on September 4, 1991. He was born on July 5, 1910, in Harrison, the son of Orley and Pearl (Bailey) Stockwell. He was united in marriage to June B. Daniels on April 25, 1936, in Harrison. Mr. Stockwell had resided most of his life in Harrison. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member of the John J. Carton Masonic Lodge #436 of Harrison. He was employed by the Clare County Road Commission for many years. Surviving are his wife, June, of Frankenmuth; one daughter, Audrey and Raymond Derocher of Frankenmuth; one son, Bruce and Pat Stockwell of Saginaw; five sisters, Nada Sharp of Harrison, Marie Bunting of Menominee, Laura Bond of Harrison, Dawn Eyre of Essexville, and Shirley Welch of Midland; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Edith Radomsky. Funeral services were held on September 7 from Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison, with Elder Dale Beavers officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Plains (Hayes Township) Cemetery, Harrison. A Masonic service was held the evening of September 6 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Saginaw County.
