Ruby Proctor died January 23, 2004 in Corpus Christi, Texas; she was 98 years young when she went to be with the Lord. She was born on April 19, 1905 in Greenville, TX and grew up in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. She graduated from Weatherford Teacher's College in 1924. Ruby was one of the original 'Rosie the Riveters' at Tinker Air Force Base from 1942 until her retirement in 1969. Ruby was preceded in death by her husbands Leonard Wilson and Arlo Proctor; daughter Jo Ann Guest; parents James Wilkes and Alice Ann Herndon; and her siblings Eula Mae, Dimple, Homer, Dewey, and Oscar. She is survived by her daughter Darliene Butts and son in law Jay; grandchildren Linda Fox, Claudia Biel, Joe Butts Jr., Sharon Butts, and Michelle Hall; great grandchildren Dusty Shyrock and Matthew Rathbun; numerous nieces and nephews, and too many friends to mention. The family will be receiving friends and relatives on Friday, January 30, at Guardian West Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be celebrated Saturday, January 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church, with interment following at Sunny Lane Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are Milton Lietz, George Hinshaw, William Baker, and John Gamble. Donations may be made to Sherwood Baptist Church, 2845 SW 39th Oklahoma City, 73119. GUARDIAN WEST 41 & N.
