Morris Wilson Ramsey, 80, of Fairfield, died Saturday, April 10, 2004 at his home.

Mr. Ramsey was born June 19, 1923 in Rockbridge County, a son off the late Simon Ramsey and Estelle Hite Ramsey.

He was a member of the Marlbrook Baptist Church in Raphine and a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Ramsey was retired from the Forest Service.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Billy, Lewis, Manson and Loyd Ramsey; and two sisters: Hazel and Nancy Fitzgerald.

Surviving are his wife, Annie Jarvis Ramsey; four sons: Phillip Ramsey and wife Linda, of Georgia, Randy (Paul) Ramsey and wife Delilah of Fairfield, Rev. Rick Ramsey and wife Suzy, of Fairfield, Morris (Buck) Ramsey and wife Lynn, of Florida; one daughter, Bonnie Snider and husband Herman, of Fairfield; three sisters: Helen Painter of Fishersville, Ethel Hite of Buena Vista, Agnes Jones of Elkton; 19 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday April 14, 2004 in the Marlbrook Baptist Church with the Rev. Gib Hale officiating. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, Va., or the American Cancer Society, Rockbridge Unit, P. O. Box 100, Lexington, Va. 24450.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Marlbrook Baptist Church, Raphine, Va. Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, Buena Vista.
