Margarita came from Monterey, Mexico then met her life long love Geronimo at age 15. In their retirement, they never left each other's sides. If a check needed depositing, they went to the bank together; grocery shopping was done in tandem. The pair even ventured to the mailbox together everyday unless one was too ill to do so.

Death like everything in their 62 year marriage, was something the De La Garza's faced together. Geronimo, whose health had declined steadily in recent years, was always expected to go first. His wife Margarita, had been his steady caretaker at their Lyford home, they built with their own hands. Like many couples of their generation whose marriages spanned half centuries, their deaths were close together.

Visitations were held Friday, March 16, 2012 from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 8:00 P.M.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford.

Interment will follow to the Lyford Evergreen Cemetery where they will be buried the same way they lived their lives together.
