The surviving children are: James Earl, Dallas, Texas; Clyde Melvin, Urbana, Illinois; Louis Ellis, Milton C.,Jr., and Eva Dell of Guthrie, Oklahoma.
For ten ten years after his marriage he operated a farm in Fulton County, Illinois, and for about the same length of time he was engaged in the grain business in Winchester, Illinois. In 1901 he with his family moved to Oklahoma and after two years returned to the farm them moved to Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1915 where he resided until the time of his death.
He has been actively identified with the Methodist church since early manhood, having served as treasurer of his board in Winchester, Illinois for many years. His membership was transferred to the First Mesthodist Episcopal church, Guthrie, Oklahoma in 1915. His fraternal affiliations were with the Modern Woodmen, Odd Fellows and Knights of Pithias.
His sudden death was a distinct shock to his family and neighbors, but his personal desire had been fully realized for he had repeatedly expressed the hope that he would not become helpless, either physically or mentally.
Services were conducted by Rev. Callin of the First Methodist church of Edmond, Oklahoma. He was assisted by Rev. H. F. Draper of Guthrie.
He was laid to rest at the Summit View cemetery, Guthrie, on February 24, 1934.
