Funeral services for Raymond R. Robitaille age 91 of Shelbyville will be held at 3:00pm Thursday March 15, 2012 in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Mr. Robitaille passed Monday March 12, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Winchester, Tennessee after an extended illness.
Visitation will begin at 12 noon until the service time at 3:00 on Thursday at the funeral home.
A native of Canada he was the son of the late Edward & Mary Marie LaPoint Robitaille and was preceded by his wife Virginia Ilene Robitaille, in 2008 and granddaughter Kim Reed back in January of this year. Before his retirement, Mr. Robitaille was the CEO and founder of Ilene Industries and was a long time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Tullahoma. Besides his strong work ethic he was an avid fisherman who invented and made several fishing lures that caught several different species of fish. He also enjoyed playing several rounds of golf on a regular bases. Mr. Robitaille served in the US Navy during WWII.
Survivors, Daughters; Janice (Johnny) Smith of Shelbyville, Linda (David) Oesch and Kay Reed all of Jackson, TN. 8 Grandchildren & 13 Great Grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
