EMMIE DOWLING (NEE: CREWS) - 88
Mrs. Emmie Dowling, 88, passed away early yesterday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hattie Taylor, 2815 Hubbard St. A native of Brantley County, Georgia, Mrs. Dowling had been a resident of Jacksonville for 3 years. She was married in 1885 to the late John R. Dowling and spent her married life in Baker County, Florida. After the death of her husband, she made her home in Moniac, Georgia before coming to Jacksonville. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Ella Mulkey and Mrs. Hattie Taylor, this city, 2 sons, J.L. Dowling, Raiford, Florida and W.E. Dowling, this city, 22 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. today at the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church, of which she was a member, Burial will be in North Prong Cemetery under the direction of Hardage & Sons.
