Christina R. Gordon
She was a gift, our Tina. She was a teacher by choice, but first of all by heart. Her life and love and spirit extended beyond the classroom to all of us who had treasure of Tina in our lives. Along with loving her children, connecting with people and working in her garden, her passion was to shine Jesus love, and she was one of the brightest! We are so grateful for her presence in our lives, and we would not have missed it for the world... but how we will miss her. She passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2001 at the family home in Mount Vernon, following a year long battle with cancer. Tina was born in St. Louis, Missouri, March 21, 1958, the daughter of Douglas and Bernadine Engel Remington. After a childhood spent in several parts of the world, she settled with her parents in Tacoma, Washington in 1970, where she graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1976. She then entered Pacific Lutheran University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and later graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham with a Masters Degree in secondary administration. She was united in marriage to Martin W. Gordon in Tacoma, April 21, 1983. The coup- le then settled in Mount Vernon where she had resided since. After coming to the Skagit Valley, she taught school in Arlington and at Jefferson Elementary in Mount Vernon for the 6th grades. She enjoyed her gardening and reading, and especially her dog Nellie. She attended Valley Friends Church. Survivors are husband Martin Marty W. Gordon, daughter Meagan E. Gordon, son Jeremy S. Gordon, all of the family home in Mount Vernon; mother Bernadine Engel Remington of Tacoma; 5 sisters, Sherry Remington, Vicki Remington, Kitty Peterson, all of Tacoma, Missy Battey and Marjie Cooley, both of Puyallup; 1 broth- er, Douglas Remington of Tacoma; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
