MALONE - Kathleen M. Burgess, 85, of Malone, died early Wednesday morning, March 14, 2012, at Alice Hyde Medical Center in Malone. She had been a patient there since March 13.

Born in Altona on Oct. 31, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mable Lashway Pickreign.

On Feb. 16, 1950, she was united in marriage to Frederick Yelle. He predeceased her on Sept. 14, 1963. On June 14, 1980, she was united in marriage to Paul E. Burgess Sr. in Malone. He predeceased her on May 8, 2005.

Many years ago, Kathleen worked at the shoe factory and later the dress factory in Saranac Lake. She later worked in the housekeeping department for the Franklin County Nursing Home, Tru-Stitch Footwear and Alice Hyde Medical Center. She retired in 1988.

She was a communicant of St. John Bosco Church in Malone. She enjoyed playing bingo.

Survivors include two sons: Ricky Yelle, and Paul Burgess Jr. and his companion Carol Clark, all of Malone; two daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabelle and Albert Riley of Brandon, and Kathy and Carl Aubin of Saranac Lake; 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her two husbands, she was predeceased by seven brothers: David, Maynard, Leland, Ernest, Gordon, Joesph and John Pickreign; one sister, Dorothy Burges; one great-granddaughter, Gillian Yelle; one great-grandson, Tucker James Stickle; and one daughter-in-law, Penny Yelle.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17 in St. John Bosco Church in Malone. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are through the Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Service of Malone.
