Married to Pheriby (Phoebe) Carter about 1818. Parents were John Bankston and Henrietta Coates. His wife may be buried in this cemetery. There appears to be a grave that is unmarked next to his. His daughter, Laminda, is on the other side of his grave. I have seen his wife listed as being born in 1796, in South Carolina and having died May 2, 1871, in Pike County, Mississippi. Her parents were Samuel and Charity Carter. He is buried at Dyson Cemetery located in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the War of 1812 from Louisiana. Appeared in the 1830 Washington Parish, Louisiana Census and the 1840, 1850 and 1860 Census for Pike County, Mississippi. Father John D. Bankston and Grandfather Jacob Bankston were Revolutionary Patriots.
