She was born on May 2, 1960, in Charlottesville, to the late Raymond and Lillian Layne Sipe.
She was raised by her grandmother, the late Mary Smiley Layne. To Linda this was Mom. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacey Layne; her grandfather, John Layne; her uncles, William "Bill" Layne, George Layne and John Layne Jr.; her aunts, Margaret Wood, Nancy Layne, Florence Thurston and Dorothy Via Terrel.
She is survived by her loving children, Sherman Layne, Johnny, Carla and Heather Layne; her companion, Angel Hernandez; her beloved dog, "Lucy"; grandchildren, Kaela, William, Jonathon, Brittany, Jasmine, Xavier, Katrina, Aden, Tavis, Kelsey and Michelle; one aunt, Mary Layne Shifflett; one uncle, Robert "Bobby" Layne; and two cousins that were like her brother and sister, Kenny Layne and Mary Ann Layne Tomlin. She would always say "I will live my life to the fullest the way I want to live my life".
The family received friends Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, VA 22939. Services were private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toward the funeral expenses at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.
