Leslie W. Thomas, Sr., 85, of Van Buren, Arkansas passed away on March 14, 2012 in a Fort Smith hospital.

He was a retired truck driver for the Johnston North Van Lines. He was an U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of VFW Post 1322 and a member of Van Buren Freewill Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be 1:00PM Monday, March 19, 2012 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial with military honors at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife Helen Thomas of the home; two daughters, Mary Hamilton and her husband Charles of Huntsville, AR and Patricia Bassie and her husband Bobby of Fort Smith, AR; three sons, Dwight Thomas and his wife Yvonne of Springdale, AR, John Thomas and his wife Sharon of Buffalo Valley, OK and Leslie Thomas, Jr. and his wife Leslie of Fort Smith, AR; one brother, J.C. Thomas of Huntsville, AR; two sisters, Nadine Barnett of Fullerton, CA and Maxine Dorsey of Springdale, AR; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Clint Thomas, Chuck Oliver, D.J. Oliver, Jason Thomas, Andrew Hamilton and Cary Thomas.
