Violet Mae Stroud, 71, of Greenfield, died at 9 P.M. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, at her residence.
She was born May 10, 1936, in Highland County, the daughter of Charles Lewis and Zella Faye Purdum Walker.
She is survived by her sons, Delwyn E. (Pamela) Walker, Greenfield, Michael D. (Tina) Stroud,Greenfield; daughters, Druscilla Kaye (Joseph) Miller, Greenfield, Pamela D.(Herb) Wilson,Greenfield, grandchildren, Lee Walker, Katie Walker, Michael Ray Stroud, Amy Richards, Jonda Brewer, Jodell Miracle, Garrett Wilson and Kiersten Wilson; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph (Althea) Walker of Heath, George (Martha) Walker, Greenfield, brother-in-laws, Dennis
Price, Greenfield and Eldon Stroud, Greenfield, several nieces and nephews and special friend, Josie Brewer, Greenfield.
Preceded in death by her husband, John W. Stroud, On Dec. 9, 1997, two infant sons, John Sherman Stroud and Charles Ray Stroud; brother, James (Jimmie) Walker and both parents.
She was retired from Thatcher Plastics of Washington C.H. and was a graduate of the Edward Lee McClain High School, Class of 1954.
She was a member of the FOE No. 1325 and the VFW Post 4736.
Day and time of service was 11 A.M. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield.
Pastor John Caskey officiated.
Burial took place in Gilboa Cemetery in New Petersburg.
Visitation was from 2 to 6 P.M. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers, may be made to Hospice of Fayette County Building Fund,P.O. Box 849, Washington C.H., Ohio 43160.
