Last rites were observed at 3:30 p.m. Monday from the Gray-Sorrells Chapel for Mrs. G.A. Holland, 78, widow of the late G.A. Holland. She succumbed Sunday morning at 11:25 o'clock at her home, 2304 Pickett st., after an illness of four months duration.

Officiating was Dr. Richard H. Poss, pastor of the First Baptist Church and the Rev. G.B. Bailey of Wolfe City. Burial was in East Mount cemetery.

Acting as pallbearers were W.E. Cawthon, J.A. Norton, J.G. Yeager, and V.A. Townes of Greenville and H.D. Gardner and J.C. Parker of Wolfe City.

Mrs. Holland was born in Glasgow, Kentucky, on March 20, 1874. She was the eldest daughter of Jonathan and Martha Pace Crumpton, who moved to Texas in 1877 and settled in the Dixon Community.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since early childhood, and was active in its program as long as her health permitted. She was married to G.A. Holland in 1892.

Survivors include two daughters, Mr. Raymond E. Garnett of Wolfe City and Mrs. J.R. White of Lubbock; three brothers, S.R. Crumpton of Boyd, Z.O. Crumpton of Cumby and Jack Crumpton of Abilene; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son and one daughter.
