Margaret died June 16, 2011, at Centerburg Pointe Nursing Home, Centerburg.
She was born May 2, 1928, in Edwight, W.Va., to the late Basil and Ada (Byrd) Christian. She was a member of the Utica United Methodist Church, where she was a choir member for 30 years, member of the Utica Order of Eastern Star. She worked for the J.J. Skinner Co., Miller Co., Utica; and the Company Store, Montcoal, W.Va.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Robert Ballengee of Mount Vernon; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Jack Skinner of Irving, Texas; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Pettigrew, who passed away Nov. 10, 1994; brothers, Mayberry, Herchel and Elwood Christian; sisters, Caretta Combs, Ruth White, Evelyn Rutledge, Janice Christian and Velma Bloxston.
