JOHN HARVEY FRITTS
JOHN HARVEY FRITTS 87, a retired accountant with the U.S. Treasury Department, where he worked for 41 years, died of congestive heart failure June 25 at Prince George's General Hospital. He lived in Hyattsville. Mr. Fritts was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. He moved to the Washington area in 1917. During World War I, he served in the Coast Guard. He earned a law degree at Georgetown University before joining the Treasury Department in 1920. He retired in 1961. He was a mason and a past patron of the Columbia chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. He also was a member of Riverdale Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife, Frances, of Hyattsville; a son, William of Wheaton; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
