He married Blanche E. Rea on March 30, 1946. She preceded him in death on January 16, 2008.
During World War II, Mr. Bowlin was a proud member of the United States Army. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and enjoyed playing horseshoes and listening to classic music.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Laura Head and LuEllen Stamp.
Survivors: son, James Bowlin; four grandchildren, Tara Leighr (Josh), Jackie Bowlin, B.J. Bowlin, and Amy Carter; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment: Savannah Cemetery.
