Billy Eugene Banks, 59, of Kellyville passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at St. John Medical Center, Tulsa, Okla. He was born on December 16, 1952, in Tulsa to William and Margie (Taylor) Banks, Jr.,
He lived in Kellyville all of his life. He attended Kellyville schools and graduated from O.S.U. He was retired after 33 years with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in May 2008 where he was chief of operations at the time of retirement.
He married Sharon (Heard) Banks on August 16, 1974. He was a member of Kellyville Holiness Church where he taught the Bible Class for 24 years and served as a Deacon for 17 years. He also served on the Kellyville School Board for 10 years and a member of the Kellyville FFA Booster Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Margie Banks.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two sons and their wives; seven grandchildren; sister and husband; and father and mother-in-law.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at Smith Funeral Chapel, Sapulpa, Okla. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at Kellyville Free Holiness Church.Interment to follow at Kellyville Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
