On the US 1870 and 1880 Census, the family lived in Marion, Hendricks, Indiana. (This Marion is not a selection on Find-A-Grave for Hendricks County).
On 09 Jul 1885, Rufus received an Appointment as US Postmaster in New Winchester, Hendricks, Indiana, the place where he and his wife are buried. I do not know how long they stayed there, because he died in May 1900 in Indianapolis and there are five Directory listings for him there. So, I do not know if his wife died in New Winchester or in Indianapolis.
