OBITUARY AND FUNERAL NOTICE: AUDA RALPH PETERS Auda Ralph Peters, age 76, 200 Liberty Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, September 21, 2003 at his residence of apparent heart attack. He was a native of Carter County, and was the son of the late John Wesley and Venia Elizabeth Colbaugh Peters. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a retired painter and janitor for Carter County School System. He was a member of Painter Local Union #437. He was a U.S. Army Veteran Having served in World War II as a medic in Germany. He was preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters, and a niece, Hildred Artino. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Peters, of the home, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Edward and Judy Peters, NC, three daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Becky and John Lay, Clinton, TN, Genia and Steve Pierce, Elizabethton, Alice Elizabeth Peters, of the home, eight granddaughters, one grandson, 3 great grandsons, one great granddaughter, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Emma Hurley, Baltimore, MD, Reba and Jerry Vines, Elizabethton, several nieces and nephews also survive. The graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2003 at Blevins Cemetery. Military Honors to be accorded by Capt. Lynn H. Folsom, V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be Harold Lowe, Warren Deyton, Mack Brown, Norman Taylor, Maynard Peters, Steve Pierce and John Lay. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. on Wednesday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home, or friends may call at the residence, 200 Liberty Hollow Road, Elizabethton anytime.
