Funeral services for William Mitchell Bateman will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Pafford Funeral Home, Lexington, TN. Interment will follow at Lexingto Cemetery.
Mr. Bateman was born March 30, 1920, in Parson, TN, and died July 2, 2004 at his home in Lexington, TN.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Scott Key Bateman; a sister, Irene Threadgill Watson; his brothers, Tom, Earl, and T.P. Bateman.
He is survived by two sons, Dr. Bill Bateman of Monroe, LA, and Bob Bateman of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earnest Bateman of Nashville, TN, and Dr. Maurice Bateman of Jackson, TN. Mr. Bateman also leaves a dear friend, Doris Crane of Lexington, TN.
