Death of Mrs. W. S. Manning.
Mrs. Viola L. Manning, wife of W. S. Manning, died at her home in this city Tuesday. New Years day she gave birth to a baby girl and appeared to be getting along nicely until Thursday of last week, when blood poison developed and all the efforts of loving hands and medical skill were of no avail.
Viola L. Cutler was born near Holt, Mo., March 24, 1881, where she grew to beautiful womanhood and was married to W. S. Manning of this city Jan. 2, 1902. Their entire married life has been spent in this city and all who knew Mrs. Manning learned to love her. She was Christian woman, being a demoted member of the Baptist church.
Besides the grief stricken husband and baby daughter, she leaves surviving a mother, Mrs. Martha Cutler, of Holt, three sisters, Mrs. E. T. Hockaday, Mrs. W. S. Clause and Miss Fanny Cutler, of this city, and three brothers, True and Rolla, of Holt, and Virgil of Cannon City, Colo., all of whom, except the latter, were here to attend the funeral, which occurred at the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Adolph Vollmer, assisted by Rev. J. H. Wood.
The death is an unusually sad one and Mr. Manning has the sympathy of the entire community.
