Ross "Pepper" Martin, 87, of Millstadt, Ill.., formerly of Fairview Heights, Ill., born Aug. 4, 1924, in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, Ill.

Mr. Martin retired after more than 35 years from Ameren Electric Company where he worked in the test department. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, Ill., Masonic East Lodge 504 A.F. & A.M. in Fairview Heights, Ill., had been a justice of the peace, former city council member in Fairview Heights, Ill., Ducks Unlimited, and he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed skeet shooting. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, George Ross Martin and Marie Augusta, nee Switala, Martin and his son, Dennis Ross.

Interment with full military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
