H. M. Law was fatally injured Monday when the scaffolding on which he was standing broke. He was working on a new barn on the farm of A. H. Hurd, north of town, and fell about 20 feet to the ground. He struck two hedge posts which were on the ground beneath the scaffolding, and received a heavy bruise on the right side of his back. He also received a severe blow across the chest from a board which he was holding when the scaffolding gave way. The injuries received from striking the hedge posts are believed to have caused his death, as he developed symptoms of severe internal injuries, indicting hemorrhage and a rupture of the liver. The accident occurred shortly before noon, and he died about 6 o'clock that evening. He was about forty years of age, and leaves a wife and four small children. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the family home in this city.
