GREENVILLE, Ohio — Lavonne A. Grossnickle Beery, 93, 750 Chestnut St., Greenville, Ohio, formerly of North Manchester, died at 4:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Greenville Brethren Home.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1910, in Miami County, to Andrew S. and Blanche M. (Merritt) Bucher. She married Edgar M. Grossnickle on July 3, 1937. He died on July 25, 1990. She then married Glen A. Beery on Sept. 6, 1998. He died on Oct. 1, 2003.
She graduated from Chester High School in 1931, and retired from Heckman Bindery, North Manchester, after 31 years service. She was a member of the Manchester Church of the Brethren, North Manchester. Her joy in life was her family. She enjoyed plants, flowers and gardening.
Surviving are two daughters, Carrol Pentecost, Greens Fork, and Bonnie Canada, Arcanum, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Bob (Joyce) Miles, Jacksonville, Fla., and Mrs. Thomas (Lois) Fulmer, Cincinnati, Ohio; two stepsons, Delbert Beery, North Manchester, and Lynn Beery, Wabash; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. A brother is deceased.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary North Manchester Chapel. The Rev. David Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
