Gertrude Elizabeth was born in Ortho, Webster County, Iowa to Charles and Amy (Marsh) Bakker. She married Vernon Cornelison. They had two children a son, LeRoy and daughter Amy.

In 1915 she moved from Iowa to Bashaw Valley in Wisconsin and on November 4, 1939 she married Henry Winberg at Pine City, Minnesota . After 1940 to the late 1980's they lived at Frederick and Clam Falls, Polk County, Wisconsin where her husband was a store keeper and she is a sales lady.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Larrabee, two brothers, Hollis and Charles E. Surviving are her daughter Amy Hills who lives in Spooner and her son, LeRoy Cornelison who lives in Shell Lake, Wisconsin, also 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren. She is buried in the Lake View Cemetery, Hertel, Wisconsin as are her husband, Henry, her parents and an infant grandson, William.
