Lance E. Ames, 53, of Essex, passed away Wednesday (March 7, 2012) at the Embassy Care Center in Wilmington. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated. R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Ames was formerly employed by R.R. Donnelley as a machine operator. He was previously a painter. He was born Jan. 31, 1959, in Kankakee.
Surviving are his father, Wallace (Jacqueline) Ames, of Neoga; mother, Lynn (nee White) Ames, of Essex; one son, Corey Ames, of North Carolina; one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Frank Joachim, of Channahon; two grandchildren; one brother, Shawn Ames, of Essex; one stepbrother, Randy Ruyle; three stepsisters, Rhonda Bouchard, Paula Ruyle and Pam Marcotte; and several nieces.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Barry Ames.
