Grant Township Pioneer Citizen Dies.

William W. Parker, sr., an old and highly respected citizen of Grant township, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 31, at two o'clock, at the age of 79 years, two months and nine days. He had a paralytic stroke on April 6, 1920, and was taken worse again on May 30, and was confined in bed since that time. He was a patient and cheerful sufferer until the end came.

Wm. W. Parker was born in Canboro, Halderman county, Canada, on Oct. 22, 1848. When about 16 years of age, he moved with his parents to Lapeer Mich where they lived for some time and then moved to Ellington and in 1868 they moved to Canboro, Huron county, where he resided ever since. He was united in marriage to Marion C. Cooley on Aug. 28, 1871. To this union were born nine children. Five preceded him in death. His wife passed away 10 years ago. He joined the Free Will Baptist church in 1886 of which he remained a member until death. He was also superintendent of the Canboro Union Sunday school for a number of years and was still holding that office when he was stricken with paralysis. He leaves to mourn his loss, two sons, Ulysses and William Parker, two daughters, Mrs. Jos. Mellendorf and Miss Lydia at home, who has so faithfully and lovingly taken care of him, nine grandchildren, two brothers, Harvey Parker of Akron, George Parker of Canboro, two sisters, Mrs. Henry Warrington of Canboro and Mrs. Peter Anderson of Harbor Beach, besides a host of other relatives and friends and neighbors who deeply mourn and extend their sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mr. Parker was a kind and loving father and a good friend and neighbor to one and all. The floral offerings were beautiful.
