Betsy, eleven years younger, was the wife of Alanson Archibald, son of Andrew and Jeanette (Rea) Archibald. They married about 1842. Children included Sarah Rebecca Earl, wife of Lewis Earl, Andrew Archibald, husband of Josie Mattison, Eunice, Larinda "Rinda", Libbie Blood, and Jane Vollentine. Their grandson, Eugene Archibald, is buried nearby, whose father is not known.

Quite a number from this place attended the Archibald reunion June 29, at the residence of Andrew Archibald at Steamburg, it being the birthday of his mother, Betsey Archibald. There were about 60 persons present. Among the many presents to here was a beautiful bouquet of 76 roses presented by Mrs. Lottie Dix. The children were all present at this gathering and a very pleasant time was enjoyed by all.

DIED AT STEAMBURG.

Betsey Archibald Passed Away Friday Last.
Mrs. Betsy Archibald, one of the oldest and best known residents of the town of Coldspring died at the home of her son. Mr. Andrew Archibald, near Steamburg, last Friday [Sep 15]. Mrs. Archibald had been a resident of the place for over thirty years, and was eighty-three years old at the time of her death. The funeral was attended at the church at Steamburg, Sunday, Rev. W. J. Barton of East Randolph officiating. Burial was made at Bunker Hill cemetery.
