Patrocinio Benavídez, "Mr. B.", age 94, went happily to meet his Creator on Monday, September 24, 2007.
Patrocinio was preceded in death by his wife, Emma, his friend, Anna Romero, his son, Valoy García and his daughter, Dilia Chávez, sister, Lori Maéz, brother, George Benavídez, grandchildren, Richard Chávez, Jimmy Benavídez and Jerry Alderete.
Patrocinio is lovingly survived by his children, Ella Salazar, Pete Benavídez and Hilda from Florida, Kathy Joy (Vialpando) Bachicha and her husband, Sal, Gilbert Benavídez and his wife, Jean, two brothers, Boleslo Benavídez and his wife, Fita and Benny Benavídez, two sisters, Della Sánchez and Mary Centeno and her husband, Frank of California, 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and many loving friends from the Armijo Senior Center, especially Celia Hernández and Irene Sáiz and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved and will miss him.
Services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 27, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Johnny Chávez, Danny Benavídez, Anthony Chávez, Frankie Alderete, Ruben Benavídez and Steve Benavídez. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Alderete and Ryan Benavídez.
