Jacques Leon Salvan, 107, passed away Aug. 12, 2006 at his residence in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. He was born Oct. 14, 1898 in LeBlanc, France to Jean and Marie Messy Salvan.
Dr. Salvan had been a resident of Santa Rosa Beach for over 40 years. He was Catholic by faith and a founding member of the Resurrection Catholic Church in Miramar Beach, FL. He was a veteran of WWI French Navy and a veteran of WWII in the United States Army. He became an American citizen in 1933.
Dr. Salvan was predeceased in death by father and mother; one sister, alice Salvan, and two brothers, Albert and Leon Salvan.
Dr. Salvan is survived by his wife of 51 years, Florence Marie Salvan, of Santa Rosa Beach.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 at Resurrection Catholic Church, with Father Michael Flynn officiating.
