STANLEY FORD 28, of Apalachin - possible fracture of the skull, lacerations on the left side of head and on right forearm; condition today serious.

JOSEPH LOMBARDI 29, of 26 Adeline Street, Owego, believed to be the driver of one of the cars - fractured of skull and shock; condition serious.

Latham and Allen were passengers in a car driven east by John W. Mills, 18, of 313 Arthur Avenue, Endicott. In this car also was Samuel Kanar, 19, of Kingston, Pa., visiting at the Mills home. Mills and Kanar were not injured. The others were riding in the Lombardi car.

Mills reported today at Endicott police headquarters that at the east end of the bridge his car skidded on the conrete paving made slippery by the rain, turned completely around and ran into a ditch on the left side of the road.

"The other car," he reported, "must have skidded at the same time into the ditch, hitting my car in the rear with its left side."

The accident was investigated by Policeman Carlton E. Popple. None of the four in the Lombardi car could give any account of the accident. The men in his car were returning to their homes from work in Endicott and Binghamton. The members of the Mills party were returning from Owego, where they had been swimming.

The two automobiles were wrecked.
