Born to Henry Robinson (1794-1878) a War of 1812 Veteran and Saviah Joslyn (1795-1867). A Civil War soldier, service: comn 1LT, Co. E, 12th VT INF, 9/1/62 (10/2/62), m/o 7/14/63. He moved with his wife Sarah Asenath Soule (1838-66) ca 1864-5 to Lansing, Mower, MN. He was a neighbor of Rensselaer Soule, in Georgia, VT and whose family also moved to Lansing, MN. He remarried in 1869 to a Mary J. Hewitt (1849-1932) and had 2 children Bessie and William. They moved to Chicago in the mid 1870's and was a clerk in Chicago. His great grandfather, Silas Robinson (1746-1828), was a quarter master in the Revolutionary War. As a matter of his namesake, Henry's great-great grandfather, French and Indian War Capt. Samuel Robinson (1707-67), was a personal friend of famed Rev. George Whitefield and was actually buried while on mission as agent for the New Hampshire Land Grantee's at Whitefield's Chapel in London, Tottenham, England.
