Mrs. William F. Althouse died at her home, 936 Muhlenberg st., aged about 26 years. Deceased was a daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Hart and was born near Seyfert's Station. She was a member of Mrs. Boas' class in the Chestnut st. Evangelical Sunday school. Besides her husband she leaves two children, Frank, aged 6 years, and Laura, aged 1 week, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Maggie, wife of Thomas Smith; Mrs. Hannah, wife of Chas. Frederick, and Emma, all of this city; Harry Hart, of Salen, N. J.; John, of Phila., and Millard, Joseph and Walter, of Reading.

Brief services over the remains of Mrs. Laura M., wife of Wm. Althouse, were held at the residence of her husband, 936 Muhlenberg, by Rev. W. H. Stauffer, after which the cortege proceeded to the Chestnut street Evangelical church where services were conducted by Rev. W. H. Stauffer, assisted by Rev. Dr. Mosser. The choir of the church sang "Waiting and Watching for Me" and "I am not My Own" at the church, and the choir of the First Reformed church, "Asleep in Jesus" and "Weep not for Me as You Stand by My Grave," at the cemetery. The remains were attired in a moire silk dress, covered with an elderdown blanket, and rested in a black cloth-covered casket with silver mountings and a silver plate on the lid bearing the inscription: "Laura M. Althouse, aged 25 years and 10 days." The bearers were: Wm. Eisenbise, Frank Meyer, Charles Schaeffer and Willard Freese. Interment in Charles Evans cemetery. The following attended from out of the city: John and Harry Hart, brothers, the former of Phila. and the latter of Salem, N.J.; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Knauer and family, of Warwick; Mr and Mrs. Evan Miles, of Chester county; uncle, John Hoffman, of Giegertown; aunt, Mrs. Sallie Snader, of New Holland; Misses Lizzie and Annie Miles, of Phila.; Mrs. Bernard nagle, of Geigertown, and Mr. and Mrs. Woodward, of Joanna Heights. The floral tributes consisted of the following: Boquet of carnations, Mrs. Boas' class of the Chestnut st. Evangelical Sunday school; boquet of natural flowers, Mrs. Nicholas Rapp; wax boquet inscribed "Sister," Sister Maggie; star of natural flowers on pedestal, Frank Meyer and Wm. Eisenbise; star of natural flowers on pedestal, Mrs. Mamie Fink and Mrs. Katie Mengel; harp of natural flowers on pedestal, 3 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Laura Althouse, Mrs. Redcay and Mrs. Ella Ganster; star of natural flowers on pedestal, surmounted by a dove, sister, Emma; cross of natural flowers, friend, Michael Sloan; boquet of rose buds, Ida and Eddie Freese; cross and boquet, parents; boquet of rose buds, Miss Lizzie Mervine; wax heart, Charles Stieff; bunch of wax lilies, Mr. and Mrs. Millard Freese; boquet, Mrs. Witters; pillow of natural flowers, with the inscription "Laura" in blue immortelles, husband, lilies, sister, Mrs. Hannah Fredericks; entwinings of smilax and roses, cousins, Misses Nellie and Lucy Hart. Undertaker Hunter Henninger had charge.
