Marvin D. Groh, 55, 605 Cherokee Dr., died Friday night at Bloomington Hospital.

He was born in Bloomington on Nov. 15, 1921, the son of Albert B. and Nellie M. (Guy) Groh.

He was a teacher at Bloomington High School South, and since 1947 had been head baseball coach, assistant basketball coach, and assistant football coach. In 1972, he led his baseball team to the state championship.

He was also an elder in the Clear Creek Christian Church, and a member of Gideon International, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Bloomington Masonic Lodge, and Phi Epsilon Kappa fraternity. He was a lieutenant in the Navy in World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey B. (Young) Groh; his parents; three daughters, Jane Ann Fuller, Bloomington, Suzanne Crafton, Ellettsville, and Cheryl Ann Groh, Norman, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Bob, a daughter, Janice, and a grandchild, Heather Fuller.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Clear Creek Christian Church, with the Rev. Richard Hittle officiating.

Friends may call at the Allen Funeral Home from 7-9 p.m. today, and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. The body will be taken to the service on Monday.

Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made through the Allen Funeral Home to the Gideons International.
