Another Pioneer Citizen Gone
The venerable Nelson Fuller, one of Penn Township’s old and respected pioneer farmers, passed away on Monday evening at his home 3 ½ miles south of Mishawaka, after a long illness from lung trouble. Mr. Fuller was a man of high personal worth and greatly respected by the entire community where he has been so long and favorable known. By his industry and thrift he had amassed a comfortable competence, but ill benefits of later years had kept him from the deserved enjoyment of the fruits of his labor.
Mr. Fuller was born in north eastern Pennsylvania, on April 18, 1816. He came to Indiana in 1834, but in 1850 he went to California where he spent two years. Upon his return to Indiana he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Crouch, and settled on the farm south of Mishawaka.
Four children were born to this union—two sons and two daughters. One of the latter, Mrs. Warren (Lora) Eller, died several years ago and the others (Julius, Lillie, Frank) with, the mother survive the parent’s death.
The surviving children are: Julius and Frank Fuller and Mrs. J.F. Hollister. The funeral took place from the late residence at 10:30 o’clock yesterday morning. The Rev. W.S. Tracy officiated and the burial was at the Ferrisville cemetery.
