Marcus Aronoff of the 600 block of Shirley Ave. died Dec. 11, 2000, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Aronoff was a native of Newport News and had worked there as a grocier prior to moving to Norfolk. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was the retired owner and operator of Jayen Tile Company. He was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation in Norfolk, Brith Sholom and the Jewish War Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah Yetta Cohen Aronoff of Norfolk; his son, Gerhson Victor Aronoff, and his wife, Michele, of Norfolk; and four sisters, Annette Brenner, Rebecca Green, Gerline Lerner all of Norfolk, and Harriet Klavan of Warren, N.J.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk, by Rabbi Yosef Friedman.
