Peter Michel, 68, 310 D. Elm St., died suddenly in his home Thursday morning. The retired farmer had apparently been in good health before being stricken while getting dressed. A doctor and ambulance were called. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Russell Hospital. Services were held at 7.pm. St. John's Lutheran Rev. Earnest Pihl officiated. Burial was in St. John Cemetery.

Born Sept 17, 1908, in the Kennebec community of southern Russell County, he was married to the former Lydia Ruf of Sterling Colo., Nov 26, 1932, in Sidney, Neb. The couple returned to the Kennebec community where they lived until moving to Russell 10 years ago. Mr. Michel retired from farming after suffering a light stroke four years ago. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and a member of the Kennebec school before the district was merged with other districts.

Survivors are the widow, Lydia of the home; a son Gordon, Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Mrs. Melvin (Deloris) Janne; four brothers, Fred, William, and Leo, all of Russell, and Rueben, McPherson; and two grandchildren.
