WINFIELD -- Leslie B. Hollingsworth, 78, of Winfield died Saturday at 8 a.m. in Mercy hospital, Iowa City. He had lived in the Winfield vicinity since 1918 and was in the general trucking business before his retirement.
He was born March 1, 1890, in Warren county, Illinois, the son of Courtney and Annabelle Reynolds Hollingsworth. December 11, 1912, in Yarmouth, he married Maude Crandall. He was a member of the Methodist church and Good Faith Lodge 235 AF&AM.
Surviving: His wife; six brothers, Allen of Winfield, Harold of Mt. Pleasant, Ted of Burlington, Cleo of Yarmouth, Lee and Wayne of Rock Island, Illinois, a sister, Bessie, of Winfield, and three grandchildren. A son, Gayle, a sister, and two brothers are dead.
Services: Monday at 2 p.m. Winfield First Methodist church; Reverend Charles Sommers; Winfield-Scott Township cemetery; Barton-McKasson funeral home.
