Connie Prejean, age 48 of Beaumont, Texas died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, after battling brain cancer for four years.

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, she was born on February 16, 1964 to Dorothy LeMaire Jacobs and Larry Jacobs.

Connie was an avid reader, enjoyed crafting, gardening, and loved the beach. She often took her family on spontaneous visits to out of the ordinary places, like a fourteen hour drive to West Texas to slide down a hill of sand.

She received her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development and worked in the childcare industry for several years, before getting married and starting her family.

Connie was very active in our community, where she served as PTA president and volunteered on every level.

Connie is survived by her husband, Daryl Prejean, her sons, Jacob Prejean and Matthew Prejean, her mother, Dorothy LeMaire Jacobs, her sisters, Catherine Lee, Mary Lipnick and Carey Messina and her brother, Shannon Jacobs and many other loving family members.

She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Jacobs.

A Memorial Mass will be 12 noon, Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Saint Anne Catholic Church, 2715 Calder Avenue, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard's.

There will be a gathering of her family and friends following the service at Unity of Southeast Texas, 1555 South 23rd Street, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
