She was the daughter of Charles B. and Sarah M. (Grinnell) Fowler. She married Winfield Forward on September 22, 1909. They were the parents of Dorthea Forward 1911-1963

Mildred Elizabeth Forward was also a child to Bessie and Winifred Forward. I am the Great Grandson of Bessie and Grandson of Mildred. I also lived with Bessie until her death in 1964. I am the son of Nancy Jo Spencer.
