Sallie Mae Bond Blanchett, widower of William Guy Blanchett, died Thursday, March 18, 2004 at the nursing home.

Born in Elbert Co. Georgia she was a daughter of the late Edward Marion and Cornelia Phelps Blanchett.

Mrs. Blanchett was very fond of her church and was a active member of Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Blanchett was a avid fisherman and also loved to go camping. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Vessie and his wife Myrtis Blanchett of Abbeville and James Murray and his wife Lucy Blanchett of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a daughter, Essie and and her husband Douglas Sparks of Abbeville, SC; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Madeline B. Staples and Betty B. Smith and a grandson, Henry E. Staples, III.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 11:00AM from the Chapel of The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery in Abbeville, SC.

The body is at The Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM Friday evening. The family is at the home of her son, Mr. & Mrs. Vessie Blanchett, 234 Old Calhoun Falls Rd., Abbeville, SC.

Active pallbearers will be her grandsons.
