CODY ROBERT McDANIEL

Cody McDaniel was lost to those who love him on March 1, 2012. He was 22 years old. Cody was born on November 21, 1989 in Redlands, California, but beautiful Oregon was home to him. He loved the outdoors and spent as much time there as he could. He enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing with his dad, four wheeling in the snow or mud with his brother and his friends, snowboarding with his sister, riding dirt bikes with his brother and his dad, and camping with his family. He loved to be at home in Dallas with his girl, Alyx, watching old episodes of 'The Office' or just hanging out and playing with their dog, Howie. He loved going to his mom's house for a meal and lots of laughter. He loved his grandma and grandpa and was never reluctant to tell them so. He never failed to give those he loved a big, strong hug.

Cody's love of the outdoors extended to his job choice. He was a logger and proud to have worked for Hofenbredl Timber, where he was surrounded by friends.

Cody will be missed by all those who knew him and loved him, including his mom, Kristy Dalgity McDaniel, his dad, Bobby McDaniel, his sister, Ashley McDaniel Derum, his brother, Shawn McDaniel, and the love of his life, Alyx Slough. Other loved ones include his grandma, Gloria Dalgity, his grandpa and his grandpa's wife, Gordon Dalgity and Gladys Pond Dalgity, his uncle and aunt, Tim and Melissa Dalgity, his cousin, Grace Dalgity, his great-grandmother, Inez Dalgity, his brother-in-law, Denny Derum, and many more family members in California and Oregon. Cody will also be missed by his many, many friends, who are too numerous to be listed here.

Cody will be remembered for his bright smile and his ability to find the humor in almost any situation. He was a loyal friend, the perfect brother, a devoted soul mate, a faithful grandson, and a cherished son.

We know that Cody has made it to his true home with God, where he is surrounded by dear ones who have gone before him. We know that someday we will see him again, but until then, we will hold the precious memory of him in our hearts every day.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel of Macy and Son 135 NE Evans St. McMinnville, OR 97128. Vault Interment will follow at Buckhollow Cemetery.
