Herald Coaster, December 8, 1992:

Stephen W. Gurasich, Sr., 79, of Richmond, died Dec. 7 at Hermann Hospital in Houston. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. The Rev. Eric Pitre will officiate, with burial at Guardian Angel Catholic Cemetery in Wallis. Rosary will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg.

Mr. Gurasich was born Nov. 7, 1913 in Avalon, Calif. He was graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1935. He was employed by Sperry Sun for 40 years as an engineer until retirement in 1976. He lived in Valley Lodge for 22 years and in the Houston area for 37 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Gurasich of Richmond; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Joan Gurasich and Jeffrey Denton of Portola Valley, Calif., Andrea and Daryl Morgan of Austin, Wendy Adair of Houston, and Barbara and Wayne Riley of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Juline Gurasich of Austin; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Stephen Gurasich Jr. and Nancy of Austin, William Gurasich of Austin, John and Linda Gurasich of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bruce and Dana Hilty of Clear Lake, and James and Lea Hilty of Katy; sisters, Nita Dick and Gloria Lopez, both of California; grandchildren, and and John Gurasich of Austin, Bradley, Stephen, and Dana Gurasich of Scottsdale, Ariz., Cullen and Brent Riley of Houston, Robin Gurasich of Austin, and Nicholas Morgan of Austin.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan, and a son, Paul.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Garmany & Carden Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association for Stroke Research, or a charity of your choice.
